August 4, 2020 Kenyan Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong' o has been nominated for her first Emmy Award.
The Oscar award winner was nominated for the 72nd edition of Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Narrator category for her narration on the international nature documentary titled Serengeti by the Discovery Channel
Lupita took to Instagram to celebrate her nomination and thanked the Discovery Channel for giving her the opportunity;
"Weeeeeeee, I am an Emmy nomineeeeeee

This will be her first-ever nomination in the category, and she becomes the third black woman to be nominated in the same class.
This year's event will mark the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards night and will take place on Sunday, September 20.
Comedian and TV host Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the event.
