Netflix has reportedly bought Kanye West's documentary for a cool $30million (Sh3.2billion). The documentary is set to feature never-before-seen footage of the rapper's life.
West, who is currently facing a high-profile divorce from Kim Kardashian, is featured in a multi-part series in the making for over two decades.
According to Billboard, the currently unnamed project is the creation of Ye directors Clarence 'Coodie' Simmons and Chike Ozah in collaboration with TIME Studios. The project is said to have told the publication that Kanye has given the duo his blessing to portray his story.
The documentary is said to have been over 20 years in the making. It is expected to delve into Kanye's music and fashion career and his presidential campaign and feature unseen footage collected by the artist over the years. While little is known about the exciting project, the series is expected to be released on the streaming platform at some point later this year.
The documentary comes after the A-list couple filed for divorce, citing 'irreconcilable differences.
The couple, who share kids, are said to be seeking joint custody. The Confirmation of their split came months after Kanye unleashed a sensational social media tirade against his wife as well as her wider family. During a presidential rally, he announced that the couple had discussed the idea of aborting their first child, North.
