ArticChadwick Boseman has recently been awarded the 2021 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. Boseman, who passed away at the age of 43 in August last year following a four-year battle with colon cancer, won the award for his performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

His widow Taylor Simone Ledward accepted the award in his place and was emotional in her acceptance speech at the virtual ceremony. Taylor thanked the film's cast and crew by stating,

"If you see the world unbalanced, be a crusader that pushes heavily on the seesaw of the mind. That's a quote by Chadwick Boseman.

"Thank you, Screen Actors. Thank you, Chad."

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom was Chadwick's final screen performance and had already won him several awards so far during awards season, including a Golden Globe. Several actors paid tribute to Chadwick in their winning speeches.

Viola Davis thanked the "beautiful Chadwick Boseman" in her speech after winning Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for the same movie.

Actor Daniel Kaluuya also dedicated his award to Chadwick, saying: "This one's for Chadwick Boseman, and this one's for [Black Panther Party] Chairman Fred Hampton. Thank you so much."
