The Ugandan Judicial system has finally lifted Bobi Wine’s house arrest after ordering the security forces to stop surrounding his home owing to the international pressure the presidential election attracted.

Previously, armed police officers had blocked the 38-year-old politician from leaving his house in Kampala since he cast his vote in the January 14th election. He vied for the presidential seat against the President Yoweri Museveni who has been in office for 35years.

Lawyer George Musisi said;

“The judge ordered that the state and its agencies should immediately vacate his property and his right to personal liberty should immediately be reinstated.”

President Yoweri Museveni was re-elected and declared victorious in the polls with 59% of the votes against 35% for Bobi Wine who rejected the results terming it as a form of fraud which the Ugandan government vehemently denies.

Lawyer Musisi added that the judge that ordered for Bobi Wine’s release rules that if there are any severe allegations leveed against the pop star turned politician, he should be brought before the courts for charges.

Previously US ambassador Natalie E Brown made attempts to visit Bobby Wine at his home, but her efforts proved futile when the Ugandan authorities accused her of meddling and subversion.
