kdf spokesperson confirms casualties following army chopper crash

The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) spokesperson Zipporah Kioko has confirmed fatalities from the OlTepesi morning crash.
In an official statement, the force confirmed that the crash claimed the lives of some of the passengers, leaving others critically injured but still receiving treatment at the Defense Forces Memorial Hospital in Nairobi.
However, the spokesperson confirmed that families of the deceased had not been contacted and further added that Investigations to determine the cause of the crash had been launched.
"All the passengers onboard the KAF Helicopter Mi 171 E, which crashed at landing, at Ol Tepesi in Kajiado County today 24th June 2021 at 9:00 am, are accounted for and have been moved to safety.
"Regrettably, following the crash, we suffered fatalities. The process of communicating with the families to relay the information and KDF condolences are underway. Aircraft accident investigations are also at the crash site to establish the cause of the accident," the update by KDF read.
