Businessman Kevin Omwenga was shot in the chest by Robert Ouko, who has so far confessed it was an accident.

Omwenga was shot in his bedroom on the seventh-floor of Galana Suites.

Some CCTV footage emerged that shows at 10:31 pm Omwenga, who had left the house shortly, is seen returning to his apartment in the company of a woman talking and giggling, little did he know it was going to be his last day.

Robert Ouko is seen following Omwenga and the woman into the house and leaves minutes later.

At 11:32 pm, Ouko returns to the house and leaves with the lady and two men carrying Omwenga, who by then was shot. At the parking lot, Omwenga is put in a blue car and driven off to the hospital while the lady remains behind with Ouko and can be seen walking towards the gate.

State Chief Pathologists Johansen Oduor has shared the post-mortem results of Kelvin Omwenga. Speaking outside Montezuma Funeral Home, Mr. Oduor, revealed that the 28-year old businessman was shot at a close range.

The pathologists further said it was hard to establish whether the murder was accidental or premeditated. According to Oduor, the deceased was shot dead on the left side of the chest, with the bullet tearing through the heart. The autopsy showed that there was also collapse on the left lung and a lot of bleeding on the left side of the chest.

He added that the bullet exited in his back area after going through his vital organs, highlighting that he had little chance to survive.

A police report indicated the deceased’s brother, Wycliffe Omwenga was in his brother’s house preparing dinner in the kitchen when he heard a gunshot.

Wycliff added that when he approached the direction where he heard the gunshot sound emanating from, he found his brother lying, face down, with blood oozing from his chest and Bodo still in the room in a hurry to leave.

He then rushed his brother to the Nairobi Women’s Hospital Adams branch, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
