Popular Tanzania Musician Nandy has explained the reason why her song Leo Leo featuring Congolese Musician Koffi Olomide has not been released weeks after the audio came out.
The Tanzanian singer flew the Lingala artiste to Tanzania to shoot the music video. Responding to a fan on why the video has not been released, Nandy said; "Material imefutika, acha tu (The footage has been erased)."
The 'Kivuruge' hitmaker has shared the audio on YouTube. Nandy did not reveal whether she will redo the music video or not. Early this month she revealed she spent over Sh 3.3Million to cater for the video;
“When Koffi came for an interview with Clouds, he was played my song ‘Kivuruge’ and he said he likes my work. When I saw the video clip, I wanted to meet him and maybe create a relationship so that we can do a collabo later.”
She, later on, instructed her management to reach out to Koffi Olomide to ask if he would want to work with her on a project; “I told my management to get his contacts and he agreed for a meeting. I met him and he told me he likes my song ‘Kivuruge’ and suggested we do a remix but I told him we should do a collabo. He said, “we can even do it tomorrow”.
I prepared myself to record, but he got busy and the next day I was traveling to Kenya. He recorded his part and sent me the clips and when I came back to Tanzania, I added my part.”
Nandy explained how humble the Congolese singer really is that he even accepted her invitation of visiting her in her house and even spending time with her family and share a meal together. “There is nothing for free, I have spent money to bring him here with his management, I have catered for his accommodation, food, costume, and the video shoot.” she said.
“To do all that I have used over $30,000. He is a very humble person, I invited him to my house and he agreed and came.”
At the same time, the singer is rumored to have broken up with her fiance, rapper Billnass, after revealing she is currently single. The rapper later tweeted, "Love tortures a lot of people. If you get the chance to be single, don't play with it."
