Musicians are lending their voices to another important cause. Global Citizen and the European Commission on Monday, June 22, announced the "Global Goal: Unite for Our Future" Concert.
The event, which will be preceded by a summit, will shine a light on how the global coronavirus pandemic has disproportionately impacted marginalized communities.
The June 27 concert will feature Miley Cyrus, Shakira, J Balvin, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, Usher, Yemi Alade, and many more. '
Dwayne Johnson will host the prime-time telecast, which aims to "combat the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on marginalized communities" and urge governments worldwide to make testing and future vaccines available for the less fortunate.
Other celebs making non-performing appearances in the concert telecast include Chris Rock, Olivia Colman, Charlize Theron, Billy Porter, Hugh Jackman, and many more.
The conversations in the "Summit" portion will be led by journalists like Katie Couric, Mallika Kapur, and include Cyrus.
The concert will air globally as well as stream digitally on Saturday.
