Kenyan gospel musician Mash Mwana has come out to thank his friends from the gospel music industry for coming through for him during the send-off for his late father, James Mamayo.

The burial was attended by friends and family, mostly artists in the gospel industry.

The 65-year-old succumbed to covid-19 last week at the Shalom hospital, Athi River. He was buried over the weekend at his home in Makueni.

It is alleged that Mash was left with a Sh500,000 hospital bill, which he was helped by friends to settle.

Mash took to his Insta story to thank all who helped him during the difficult time.

“IT IS GOOD TO STAY WELL WITH PEOPLE. WHEN MY DAD PASSED, I CALLED MY PASTOR, MY FRIEND SAM, MASTERPIECE AND DK KWENYE BEAT SINCE THEY ARE MY CLOSEST FRIENDS. THEY CAME TO THE HOSPITAL WITH MORE FRIENDS,” He wrote.

Among other celebrities who held Mwana’s hand during the tough times were Bahati, Mr Seed, DJ Mo, Teddy B, Jalang’o, Ezra FBI and others.

“THEY STOOD WITH ME. I SAW GOD, BECAUSE I WASN’T LEFT WITH ANY BILL. WE SETTLED EVERYTHING.” He added

Mwana has since released a tribute song to his dad dubbed ‘Lala Salama’
