The MTV Europe Music Awards have announced this year’s contenders for the top prizes, with Lady Gaga out front with seven nominations.
The 34-year-old, who made a pop comeback with her sixth studio album Chromatica earlier this year, was followed by K-Pop superstars BTS and Justin Bieber who each received five nods.
This time the contest has been a tough one, with Gaga going up against Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B for best U.S. act, while Beliebers will face off against the BTS Army for the Biggest Fans trophy.
Lady Gaga has already picked up five gongs for her most recent musical efforts, with the star taking home a number of awards including Best Artist in the MTV VMAs, which took place in August this year.
It was the first time Rain On Me had been performed live on TV. Rain On Me was nominated for seven awards and won three - song of the year, best collaboration and best cinematography. Ariana also won best music video from home for Stuck With U, her collaboration with Justin Bieber. Below are some of the categories and its nominees for this year's MTV EMAs...
The MTV EMAs added three new categories this year: best Latin, video for good and best virtual live. The first two of these three categories were imported from the MTV Video Music Awards, where they were introduced in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
