Former Director of Programming at Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T.) International, Lilian Blankson, has reportedly passed away at 46. Although the news regarding Blankson's demise is still unknown, the Ghanaian-American author and content creators will be celebrated for her pivotal role in incorporating the Best International Act category into the B.E.T. awards scheme.

The creation of that category encouraged many African musicians into the scheme. Years down the line, many artists, including Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid and others, have won the award.
