Facebook had recently announced the launch of 'LeadHERs: Life Lessons From African Women', a collection of beautifully inspired stories and life advice from 19 women. The stories showcased are based on women breaking boundaries in media, entertainment, politics, education and business.

The book's launch was part of facebook's celebration around International Women's Month and International Women's Day that was celebrated on 8th March. The book provides inspirational real-life stories for future generations and young leaders available for free in digital and physical formats.

Each chapter focuses on a personal experience and life lesson around how these women have navigated their path to success, alongside the challenges they have had to overcome along the way.

Kenyan Tv anchor Yvonne Okwara, one of Kenya's best media personalities, was not left out. Facebook has recognized Okwara as among the top African female trailblazers like the likes of Wangari Maathai, Julie Gichuru, Lupita Nyong'o, who are also among those who have been recognized in the same category.

The media personality took to her social media to share her gratitude and happiness with her fans on the glorious achievement. She stated,

" And then this year, I'm honoured by Facebook… And many thanks to all the local and regional newsrooms that have carried this story

Thank you KBC, I started out here many, many years ago as a child, presenting a children's show. Asante for this piece. That's me immortalized in this book… Have you downloaded it yet? I'm on page 60 Yaani that's me they are talking about? See God."
