2021 Women In Film Awards Nominees Are Out!

WIFA awards are an opportunity to recognize women filmmakers in Kenya. This year's award theme is" Woman Filmmaker Changing the Game ".

It's that time of the year again when they celebrate the woman filmmaker's drive, spirit, and diversity. These are the nominees of the second women in film awards 2021. Voting is officially open and Closes on Midnight Wednesday 17th February 2021.

That said the nominees for the Women in Film Awards (WIFA) are out. This is the second edition of the awards that seek to celebrate women's drive, spirit, and diversity in the Kenyan film making business. The voting lines are officially open; this will allow voters to select one nominee in each of the 19 categories up for the contest.

Under the theme 'The Woman Filmmaker Changing the Game.' WIFA organizers had called for nominations submissions which ran from 15 th December 2020 till 15th January 2021. Some of the categories up for contest include Best Producer, Best Sound Designer, Best Editor, Best Cinematographer, Best Script Writer, Best Costume Designer and Most Influential Woman personality, just to mention a few.

Each of the 19 categories have five nominees. Some of them include Nduta Sialo, Sarah Teshna Ndanu, Sarah Hassan, Mercy Mutisya, Lulu Hassan, Michelle Angawa, Ruth Ndulu Maingi, and Catherine Kamau.

Past winners include Costume Designer Wambui Thimba, Producer Alice Kombani, Make-up Artist Fatou Hassan, and Sound Designer Mercy Adundo.
