'Flipflopi' Nyong'o's film set for Annecy

'Flipflopi' is the first Kenyan short film to be accepted to the Annecy competition. The film is about the story of Aisha, Ali and Flipflopi, a multi-coloured dhow boat. The Author Kwame tells new stories from Africa that are often not shown, giving positive and uplifting narratives of today's continent.


The film was scripted and narrated by Kwame Nyongo. In the film, Kwame stated that the film specifically targeted young children as crucial warriors.


"The wonderful story of Aisha, Ali and FlipFlopi, the multi-coloured dhow boat, has since gained a special jury selection in its category for this year's edition of the world's largest animated film festival."

Flipflopi is the first Kenyan short film to be accepted to the Annecy competition. The festival will run from June 14 to June 19.
